Maine Bull Moose Lodge Tag 2024

Dead North Adventures/Rustic Retreat Lodge LLC has been awarded a bull moose permit for September 22nd through September 28th, 2024, in WMD 6 as part of a lottery available to registered lodges in Maine.

We are offering our Lodge Permit for $25,000 (plus applicable taxes; cash offers entertained), which covers a fully guided hunt, food, and lodging for two people for up to 7 nights and 8 days at our Lodge in Perham, Maine. The September season aligns perfectly with the moose rut, ensuring an unparalleled hunting experience.

To secure this hunt, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required upon booking, with the balance due 30 days before the hunt commences. Please note that the Lodge tag is NOT transferable to another Outfitter/Guide Service.

In addition to the moose permit, this package includes the following:

  • 6 Full day Moose Hunt with experienced guide(s) & helper(s).
  • State Lodge tag fees
  • Private suite and bathroom for you and your sub-permittee.
  • All bed & bathroom linens.
  • Washer and Dryer for personal use.
  • High-speed internet access and cell service at the lodge.
  • Home-cooked meals and lodging for you AND your sub-permittee at no additional cost.
  • Ample secure parking for trucks and trailers.
  • Range for sighting in your firearm/bow.
  • Guide(s) & helper(s) will thoroughly scout the zone weeks before the hunt.
  • Transportation during your hunt, to the butcher, to the tagging station, and taxidermist.
  • Retrieval of your moose/bear and caping for taxidermy.
  • Tagging fee for your moose.
  • Photos during your hunt.
  • Transportation to and from the Presque Isle, Maine airport.

  • Maine Big Game License. ($115 nonresident)

What is a Maine Outfitter Moose Tag? The Maine Outfitter Tag program is designed to support Hunting Lodges and Outfitters. A small percentage of Maine moose permits are allocated to them each year. These permits are guaranteed tags and are limited in number. Typically, these tags are sold through individual auctions, with prices ranging from $20,000 to $40,000, depending on the Outfitter.

Maine Bull Moose Eligibility Requirements:

  • Hunting License Required – Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Maine big game license by the opening day of the moose hunting season. Minimum age of 10 years old by opening day. (September 25, 2023)
  • Three-year waiting period – If you have won a permit in the Maine lottery in the past three moose seasons, you would not be eligible to purchase this tag from Dead North Adventures. If you won the state auction, you would be eligible; however, purchasing Dead North Adventures’ tag would require a three-year waiting period for the general Maine moose lottery moving forward. These restrictions do not apply to sub-permittees or alternate sub-permittees.
